Would an i7 SandyBridge Processor work well with A GTX590? Any bottlenecking?

I'm upgrading my system, from ATI to GTX. I hope I did my research well to make this switch. I'd be happy of any input or constructive opinions about the switch too, you know... Should I or should I not?

So far, I compiled...

ASUS P8P67 EVO

Ge-force GTX 590

Intel Core i7-2600 Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz.

What kind of power supply will suffice.

Also, RAM... is there one best suitable for gaming with this motherboard?

This build would be used for gaming mostly.|||Wow, that'll be quite a system. The Core i7-2600K will definitely work well with a GTX 590, as would a Core i5-2500K, which is actually a better choice in terms of "bang for the buck" if you're going to be using the system mostly for gaming. In either case, you definitely won't have any bottlenecking.

As for making the switch from ATI to NVIDIA, I did the same thing on my current machine, and I have no regrets. I have two GTX 460 1GB cards in SLI, and they've handled all I've thrown at them with ease. I had been a lifelong "ATI guy," but the reviews of the GF104 and later GPUs have made me an NVIDIA believer. :-)

You'll need at least a 700W power supply, according to NVIDIA:

http://www.geforce.com/#/Hardware/GPUs/g…

I'd probably get an 850W Corsair unit in order to have some headroom, but a 750W unit would be just enough.

Corsair 850W:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Corsair 750W:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Regarding memory, with that motherboard I'd probably go with a 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 kit from Corsair (it's on the board's QVL):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Have you considered getting a motherboard with the new Z68 chipset? It has the best features of both the H67 and P67 chipsets combined, plus some new features for SSDs:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

If you go that route, I'd get this memory from G.Skill (2 x 4GB DDR3-1600):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

It'd be a bit more future-proof that way. :-)

Hope that helped!|||that aint no bottleneck

i7 2600k is awesome,, so i guess it can handle the

The Most Powerful Graphics Card On Planet!!!

Cheers!!!

you'll do great

just make sure to get a PSU with 750W REAL POWER and 8GB DDR3 Ram 1600MHz will be good

Is it hard to instal a video card?

I am going to buy a Nividia GTX590 or Radeon HD6990 video card. How do I intal it, and is it hard?|||google "how to install a videocard" and you'll see.|||Very simple to install.

(First off, make sure your Motherboard, and Power Supply can support it, these are some good cards, you'll need a good Motherboard to support it. I'm not sure about the NVIDIA Card, but the Radeon requires a minimum 750W Power Supply. Make sure you have one, or you'll have some big problems in the near future.)

When you open your computer case, there will be a PCI Slot on the Motherboard. It should look like this - http://www.karbosguide.com/books/pcarchi…

In most cases, the Graphics Card uses the longest one.

You will then connect the cables that came with the Graphics Card to the Power Supply (The connections are easy to match up.)

The hardest part is going into the BIOS Settings and setting the new Card, as the primary one. Or your computer will continue to use the card on the Motherboard by default. Unless there was already a physical card you had to remove.

I hope I helped!

PS - If your Motherboard is not compatible, then you will either need to go with a lower-end card, or build a whole new computer. The Motherboard and CPU are the most expensive parts of a computer, if you have to change the Motherboard, you have to change the CPU in most cases.|||Not at all it's very easy .just put ur card in pcie x16 slot.

connect ur dvi or hdmi cable to graphic card.

Connect the 6pin or 8pin power supply frm psu to ur graphic card nd that's it.|||there are plenty of vids on youtube if you are a visual learner|||its easy plug it in then install its drivers

ATi Radeon HD 6790 or nVIDIA GTX590 ?

Spec.

Intel Core i7 @4.45GHz

3x2048MB Kingston 1033 DDR3

1 TB+ 500GB SATA AHCI

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit|||no|||To answer your question in money term is, GTX 590 cost you $800 whereas ATI 6790 cost you $140. GTX 590 is latest from Nvidia whereas ATI 6790 is a earlier version of 6850.

GTX 590 needs a psu of 750W and above whereas 450W will be OK for 6790.

If you are interested in knowing more gtx 590, please check the attached review.|||Definitely the GTX590, the HD6790 is only a mid range card. If you have two PCIe x16 slots then a pair of GTX580s will be faster because the GTX590 is effectively a pair of GTX570s|||If no budget and money is no object then i would go for the dual gpu gtx 590 , if on a budget then the hd 6790 ,heck , go with the 6970 this card has very good ratings and great for gaming

Nvidia GTX590 or HD6990?

"Dont worry about the price which is a better card"|||Depends on what you're playing. If its something like WoW, just get what's cheaper, and just about anything labeled "gaming" will do the trick for it.

Found this:

http://semiaccurate.com/2011/03/22/nvidi…

make sure to read the whole thing before making a decision, however, because one or the other may be better for your situation.|||The ati hd 6990 with dual gpu's or the nvidia dual gpu gtx590 looking at some of the benchmarks in running some modern games and blogs sites and pc mag reviews the nvidia gtx 590 out performs the ati hd 6990 by a small margin in some benchmark tests.|||Both cards are very similar.

but if you are up for more that 3 displays the go for HD6990 because it is built for it.

But if your up for 3 displays and the quality of the display then go for GTX 590.|||Well most reviews will say that the HD6990 is better,

But then again i will only chose the GTX 590 as it is showing a better Dx11 support.

So in my opinion, the GTX 590 should handle newer and upcoming games better|||Nvidia all the way!

Can i use a gddr5 graphics card on an intel g33/31 chipset motherboard?

i am planning on picking up an nvidia geforce gtx590 or the gts250..which of these will work properly depending upon my motherboard?|||It all depends on what PCI connection slot your mother board has.

if it has a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot them you can happily use the GDDR5 card.,

But do check the system specs for compatability|||if your motherboard has pcie x16 slot then you can buy any pcie x16 graphic card|||Either will work, there's no issue with motherboard compatibility, as any motherboard with a PCI-E x16 slot can accept any PCI-E x16 card (version 2.0, 2.1, 1.1 etc does not matter)

But depending upon other factors (your CPU, power supply capacity, case size and budget) one of them might not be practical.

The GTS 250 is an older card that's been replaced by the GTS 450. It's a $100 model which requires a 450W power supply. The GTX 590 is an exteremely high-end card, that costs $750 and requires a minimum 700W power supply.|||We need more information.

The following are important to take into account when you are purchasing any new component (especially a graphics card)

1. Does your motherboard have the correct slot/port required?

Exclusive to your situation: Make sure you have the proper port (PCIe 16x) on your board.

2. Is your power supply strong enough?

Exclusive to your situation: Make sure your power supply can handle the additional draw from those cards (around 250W, maybe more?)

What are the good online shops to buy a graphic card?

I am building my own gaming computer and I want to put a gtx590 in it but its not available in my country.

What are some good online shops to buy graphics cards at reasonable prices that also ship over to Pakistan?|||Try Newegg.com|||Newegg.com is a really great site with very competitive prices.|||I don't know about Pakistan.

In the USA and Canada, Newegg.com and Tigerdirect.com

In the UK, Ebuyer.com and Aria.co.uk.|||I bought mine @ http://amzn.to/kKwMoc and I'm very happy with it's fast delivery,|||Try eBay they ship worldwide but beware of scam.

Can I put nVidia GTX590 on my mother board MSI P35 NEO?

No you can´t that motherboard only accepts PCIe x16 1.0 and the GTX 590 needs a 2.0. Plus don't go and buy such an expensive graphics card for such a poor motherboard and processor, because you wont be able to experience it´s full capability. One of the only things you don't want to go cheap on is on a motherboard. You have to balance of all your computer components, don't buy a 1000$ GPU for like a 30$ board (exaggerating).

Radeon 6990 vs GTX590?

What GPU is the better option for the price.. Or should I wait to see the benchmarks of each card|||Kinda hard to judge the 590 since it isn't out yet.....|||590 is not out yet so wait.

Which of these should I get 2x 1.5gb gtx580 or 2x 3gb gtx580 or 2x 3gb gtx590?

Which would be the best for getting the best frame rate at highest graphics and also money wise and noise levels|||What kind of monitor are you going to use?

In regards to the GTX 590, On the box it says 3gb of graphics memory. However that memory is not shared. One half of the memory goes to one GPU, the other half goes to the other.

If you plan to Crank up the AA on the 5760X1080 setup you will need the 3gb of V-RAM. The GTX 590 will suffer from a memory bottleneck. This makes the Radeon 6990 a better card since the memory bottle neck isn't quite as bad.

With the 5760X1080 setup, 2x 3gb GTX 580's in SLI you give you the ability to crank up the AA with lower framrates. Two GTX 590's in SLI will crap out once the setting go beyond AA. While 2x GTX 590 in SLI will give much higher frames with no AA. With no AA two 3gb GTX 580's will be slower than two GTX 590's in SLI. Your call. 3x 3gb GTX 580's in triple SLI would be ideal for running this in 3D.

The single 2560X1600 monitor in 3D would benefit the most from the from the horsepower of 2x GTX 590's in SLI. You could get 2x 1.5gb GTX 580's and be fine. The 3gb GTX 580 model isn't needed for the single 2560X1600 monitor.|||Well, if money is no object, 2.3gb gtx 590. for price, 2.3gb gtx580. the 590 is really new, so the gtx580 will have a brief dip in price, but it will go up again when the 590 isn't cutting edge.|||2x 3gb gtx590

In this comparison, more is always better. However, performance:cost ratio will suffer as the 590s are currently top of the line.

Also, I think 3x 3D monitors require 3 graphics cards.|||Looks good so far

Will the i5 2500K be enough for the ASUS GTX590?

??????????????????????|||Yes, they should go together nicely. Especially if you plan on overclocking. (You should easily be able to overclock it to mid 4.x GHz, or higher, with good cooling.)

If you plan on adding a second video card to the 590, I would probably go with something a bit more, such as the 2600k. It's not as cost effective, and it will be overkill for any games currently released, but it will last a bit longer. For most people though, I'd say to just stick with the 2500k.|||A Core i5 can be overclocked up to 4.5 ghz on air cooling, and even at stock settings the Core i5 2500k will take on just about any video game released to date.

If that's not enough, you can always upgrade the CPU to a Ivy Bridge i5 next year, since Ivy Bridge uses the same socket.|||The i5-2500k has reach as high as 5.0 ghz and stable with the right specs ,the gtx 590 dual graphic card will take a 850 watt psu ,recommend a 1000 watt psu, it's not the i5-2500k but the psu working with that graphic card

Which one overall performs the best and worth the money. I know the 590 is too expensive but is it worth the money compare to a gtx560Ti which is $700 less?|||gtx570 inexpensive good for money or dual sli a gtx560ti and have at least 550watts for the gtx570 and anymore than 550 watts is even better recommended 600 watts but choose a good brand e.g. Corsair, antec, cooler master etc.

by the way i would buy a gtx570 and if you really want to dual sli i would recommend 800 watts of psu power.

just go for the gtx570!

HELP GAMERS! Single NVIDIA GTX590 or Dual Radeon HD6950?

I am building an extreme gaming PC with it's sole purpose to play FPS games on max settings and not have any hiccups.

I'm stuck on choosing the best video cart setup. I want the best & I plan on playing the upcoming Battlefield3 on it when it releases in the Fall (and want to make sure I can max everything out without a hiccup).

That being said, which setup is better and why for the graphics card?

Single NVIDIA GTX590 or Dual Radeon HD6950s?|||The GTX 590 hands down. It's the most powerful gpu on the market (or at least it was a few weeks ago). Just remember to feed the beast lots of juice cause its a hungry one.|||If it was my setup I would crossfire the 6950's.|||Looks good so far

Can the Corsair HX-850 Power Supply run gtx590?

can Corsair HX-850 Power Supply

https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=12111

run a Nvidia gtx590 ?

i keep getting told that i need more than one 8 pin eps . is this true or is that power supply ok for a gtx590 ?|||You're good.

You do need two 8pin pcie connectors. The 6+2 pin connectors are.. Well, you do the math.

6+2 pin connectors are nice because a lot of cards require 6 and some require 8. It gives it more flexibility.

I guess you have 7 8pins connectors.

You can use a much weaker/cheaper power supply for a GTX 590. However, it might be nice to have that card so that you can SLI it when needed.|||It'll run a GTX 590 for sure.

It's also a really good quality power supply.|||A Corsair HX-850 is one of the best power supplies I've ever came across and it will definitely power a NVIDIA GTX590.

Gtx590 LED light totally off but working properly ? how can i turn it on ?

I have a gigabyte GTX590 its working 100% but for some reason the LED light on the graphics card is off. im not sure why and i want it to be on :( lol any clues ?|||I'll give you a clue. If the card works, leave it alone! You have NO experience in desoldering or soldering.

Is there a huge performance difference between the gtx560 Ti and the gtx590 graphics cardphics card?

Gtx590 currently sells for $930 at my city whilst Gtx569 Ti is only $250. Is it worth wasting $700 more for the performance?|||Wow!!! The gtx590 is I think the best graphics card available. If you got the money you should get it...|||The GTX590s are VERY powerful (100+ FPS on max with newest games).

But also, overkill. You don't need that much! Especially for that price! Lord.

Buy the 569, trust me.|||Not really. The GTX 590 is pretty close to 2 GTX 560 TIs, but in reality, a GTX 560 TI is more than enough to play any game on the market at 1080p and ultra detail, save Crysis, Metro 2033, and BF3.

Also, the GTX 590 is quite loud and power hungry, in addition to being over-priced.|||The GTX590 is very good but also overkill, the GTX560Ti would be better overall, it'll play anything you throw at it and also saves you $700 or so.|||theres a HUGE diffecence between the 2. the memory (Dedicated video ram) is much much more on the GTX 590. thats the best card on the market today. I would say if your a HARD CORE gamer and i mean HARDCORE then it will be worth it but if your just a gamer (more then a casual but not hardcore) then the 560 ti will work great...still plays almost all games on high. the 590 will play EVERYTHING on INSANE at high resolutions though. make sure your CPU is good though because playing games has only 3 nececities- RAM, a good multicore CPU, and a good GFX. if one of those is missing you wont get optimal gameplay|||No and where ever ur getting these cards from, their more expensive than they should be.

GTX590 OR ASUS6990 OR ...?

So hello guys.

i have my money now for my new pc build.

but i still have a problem

i dont know wich graphics card to get.. for games like Battlefield 3 Skyrim etc.

i know alot of people are saying the 6990 is ment for LARGER resolution... My Resolution is 1680x1050 ATM... Will upgrade it in the future i guess.

So Wich performence better in Battlefield 3.? or should i Crossfire x2 6950's and unlock them to 6970's? or SLI'in x2 gtx570??

im still stuck with these opinions..

my Reg will be

Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2500k 3.3Ghz ATM

Mobo depends on wich way ill go SLI or single video card.

750x watt gold.

Antec dark fleet 85

6gb ddr3

1TB|||You trying to get the best fps as possible from BF3 everyone is doing there best to get the same results, crossfire 6970 or a amd hd 6990 this dual gpu has a small margin over the gtx 590,tested out both agree about the noise the amd hd 6990 makes compared to the gtx 590,the gtx 590 is slower in performance compared to the amd 6990, i would go with the amd hd 6990, also , i can't believe the system requirements to run skyrim from medium to high settings very low ,one gamer i talk to said he is using a hd 6970 and runs smooth at high settings|||its pointless to spend on a GTX590 or HD6990 is ur not going to use multiple monitors... Even a unlocked HD6950 can maxout all present games at 1920x1200.

*according to benchmarks HD6990 is better thn GTX590, see at tomshardware or anandtech.

*sli/crossfire is an option to upgrade, not a nice idea to start with, its always better to have a high end card rather than using two.. Less complication, less heat, less compatibility issue and least headbanging/|||Always radeon...... Seriously though the 6990 far out performs on any game....

6990 is far better than any nvidia crap... But you will want water cooling or an aftermarket fan|||Based on comparisons between the GTX 590 and the 6990 that I've seen, the only thing that discourages me from getting the 6990 is the noise. Otherwise, it is better than GTX 590 in almost any other way. If you're getting either of these, be sure to get a 2560x1440 or a 2560x1600 monitor. 2 HD 6970s perform better than an HD 6990 and a GTX 590 performs around the same as 2 GTX 570s but you'll probably be bottlenecked by the GTX 570's 1.25GB VRAM on high resolutions.

However, you really won't need either of these two beasts. To save some money, just get 2xHD 6950 2GB (not sure if you can still unlock them since the new ones have been laser-cut) or a single GTX 580 and you would still be able to max games on 2560x1440.

If you're most likely staying with your 1680x1050 monitor, an HD 6850 or GTX 460 1GB should max out most games.

Gtx 480 vs gtx590 vs AMD Radeon HD 6650M?

which is better for gaming?|||GTX 590 has two underclocked GTX 580 cores in it and GTX 580 is the fastest card on the planet (single GPU). And the AMD card is mobile so it is the worst out of these 3.|||Gtx 590 is best of these for gaming

GTX 480 is the most affordable one and is what i'd get out of the three just so as to not use all my budget... 6650, come on laptop adapter? this one doesn't even compare to the other 2, its complete utter junk.|||GTX 590 its the highest level card that Nvidia makes so it is the best. Got $900 to drop? Don't spend it on the 590 go with a Radeon 6970 or a GTX 570 super overclock and save ur money. They can both max out BF3 with 45-70 fps. Then go spend it elsewhere like on a super badass case like the HAF 932.

Hope this helped

:D|||Gtx590 is better for gaming. Don't buy it though, all you need is a 580 to pretty much max every game. Hell even a 480 can pretty much do it.|||Out of the three and kind of high in price is the dual gpu gtx 590 in which will out perform the other two by a large margin takes a minimum of a 750 watt psu , 850 watt would be better|||u must go with GTX 590 , best for gaming and at this price point , 40 - 50 dollars doesnt even matter.therefore u must go completely with the new GTX 590......

Will an HD6990/GTX590 work in a H61 chipset?

Yes, it should work. Just be sure that it can fit in your case.

Although, you won't be able to overclock your CPU to compliment those beasts of a card.
