GTX590 OR ASUS6990 OR ...?

So hello guys.

i have my money now for my new pc build.

but i still have a problem

i dont know wich graphics card to get.. for games like Battlefield 3 Skyrim etc.

i know alot of people are saying the 6990 is ment for LARGER resolution... My Resolution is 1680x1050 ATM... Will upgrade it in the future i guess.

So Wich performence better in Battlefield 3.? or should i Crossfire x2 6950's and unlock them to 6970's? or SLI'in x2 gtx570??

im still stuck with these opinions..

my Reg will be

Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2500k 3.3Ghz ATM

Mobo depends on wich way ill go SLI or single video card.

750x watt gold.

Antec dark fleet 85

6gb ddr3

1TB|||You trying to get the best fps as possible from BF3 everyone is doing there best to get the same results, crossfire 6970 or a amd hd 6990 this dual gpu has a small margin over the gtx 590,tested out both agree about the noise the amd hd 6990 makes compared to the gtx 590,the gtx 590 is slower in performance compared to the amd 6990, i would go with the amd hd 6990, also , i can't believe the system requirements to run skyrim from medium to high settings very low ,one gamer i talk to said he is using a hd 6970 and runs smooth at high settings|||its pointless to spend on a GTX590 or HD6990 is ur not going to use multiple monitors... Even a unlocked HD6950 can maxout all present games at 1920x1200.

*according to benchmarks HD6990 is better thn GTX590, see at tomshardware or anandtech.

*sli/crossfire is an option to upgrade, not a nice idea to start with, its always better to have a high end card rather than using two.. Less complication, less heat, less compatibility issue and least headbanging/|||Always radeon...... Seriously though the 6990 far out performs on any game....

6990 is far better than any nvidia crap... But you will want water cooling or an aftermarket fan|||Based on comparisons between the GTX 590 and the 6990 that I've seen, the only thing that discourages me from getting the 6990 is the noise. Otherwise, it is better than GTX 590 in almost any other way. If you're getting either of these, be sure to get a 2560x1440 or a 2560x1600 monitor. 2 HD 6970s perform better than an HD 6990 and a GTX 590 performs around the same as 2 GTX 570s but you'll probably be bottlenecked by the GTX 570's 1.25GB VRAM on high resolutions.

However, you really won't need either of these two beasts. To save some money, just get 2xHD 6950 2GB (not sure if you can still unlock them since the new ones have been laser-cut) or a single GTX 580 and you would still be able to max games on 2560x1440.

If you're most likely staying with your 1680x1050 monitor, an HD 6850 or GTX 460 1GB should max out most games.
